About
I am Tanya Hill, a future-focused thinker examining how governance, systems, culture, and change intersect, connecting structure and meaning, policy and people.
Through The Lush Edit™ (TLE), I use writing as a form of inquiry and synthesis. It is where I question, connect, and translate how systems, stories, and identities shape the world we build. The platform serves as both an editorial space and a foundation for future work across consultancy, collaboration, and creative research.
Professional Convergence
My work bridges intellectual property, governance, culture, and identity. Over more than two decades, I have developed a multidisciplinary perspective shaped through experience across intellectual property governance, litigation, economic development, public institutions, private wealth environments, media, and the creative industries.
My professional path has included work within the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, the United States Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority, and a private investment office serving a single-family enterprise, experiences that deepened my understanding of governance, stewardship, economic systems, institutional power, and the intersection of public and private influence. Earlier work in asbestos litigation further sharpened my understanding of risk, regulation, labor, and the human dimensions of complex systems. My professional foundation also includes more than two decades as a Certified Paralegal (CP®) through NALA, a credential held since 2001 that reflects a sustained commitment to legal rigor, systems thinking, and the disciplined interpretation of complex information.
Alongside this institutional experience, my background in radio and media, fashion and visual styling, and classical dance training shaped a parallel fluency in narrative, aesthetics, embodiment, and cultural interpretation. Together, these experiences inform how I translate and examine the world through systems, culture, identity, aesthetics, and lived experience.
My professional foundation is grounded in both practice and study, including completion of the Inside LVMH certification program, with a focus on luxury ecosystem dynamics.
Origins
My worldview is shaped by a British and American Caribbean upbringing and expanded through sustained global cultural engagement. I come from a lineage deeply connected to education, public service, labor advocacy, historical preservation, and self-governance within the U.S. Virgin Islands, influences that shaped my early understanding of systems, identity, stewardship, and collective memory.
The intellectual and civic commitments that surrounded me instilled a lasting sensitivity to the relationship between power, history, culture, and human experience. These foundations continue to inform how I navigate complexity, reconcile competing perspectives, and translate systems into clarity and meaning.
Creative Lens
A lifelong engagement with fashion, media, movement, and artistic expression informs my approach. These disciplines sharpen my perspective on narrative, design, embodiment, and cultural systems, reinforcing that governance and culture are not abstract. They are lived, performed, inherited, and expressed.
The Lush Edit
The Lush Edit brings this synthesis into focus, merging professional expertise with lived experience to examine how culture, identity, and the architectures of law, design, and governance shape perception and influence.
It is where frameworks are developed to translate complexity into clarity, and where work is crafted to resonate beyond performance or trend.
Invitation
The Lush Edit is precise, thoughtful, and grounded, while remaining open, resonant, and human.
It is a space of inquiry and connection, where analysis and empathy coexist, and where ideas are not only explored, but lived.
